Cadastral Mapping

Cadastral data define the geographic extent of the past, current, and future rights and interests in real property and the spatial information needed to describe that geographic extent. The cadastral map refers to large scale maps indicating the boundaries, ownership and divisions of land parcels. Additional features such as district names, numbers of parcels, title numbers, the position of existing structures, street names are also can be indicated.

The cadastral map has the following purposes.
  • It provides a cartographic record of official and sometimes private land surveys and subdivisions.
  • It facilitates the administration and transfer of land ownership.
  • Records land ownership.
  • Assists in the valuation and taxation of land.
